There are moments in one's life when a person knows that they are witnessing an event of great importance that has a potential to change the world. I believe I have just had the honour to participate in such an event - the launch of China-UK Entrepreneurship Educators Network. I count myself lucky - first of all to be able to be here in Hangzhou, and this is my first visit to this part of the world, let alone China, and second of all, to feel that I as an educator myself, am actually a part of events that have been put in motion today.
I always thought I do not have problems with words and expressing myself, but today's evening as well as day's activities were so exciting and eventful, that I find myself at a lack of right words to describe this experience. I have had the opportunity to expand my knowledge about China and it's recent history with regards to education, but also to network with Chinese educators, find out what initiatives have already been implemented and to discuss obstacles and problems in entrepreneurship education as well as actions which can immediately be taken to overcome them. There was official unveiling of a plaque and celebratory dinner, accompanied by congratulations and toasts to success in this newly formed cooperation. A lot to think about and a lot to remember... truly special day.
Using jetlag as an excuse, I shall finish for today. But do expect more insight into this event from me!
